My Story

It all started when I was 11 years old. While tinkering with my online shop design on Neopets, I found out that you could insert CSS codes to change the font colours, add a background and more! I then taught myself HTML and CSS with the help of a coding website for kids. It was then I discovered my aptitude for graphic design, web and programming. I decided to pursue this knowledge with a Diploma in IT and later, a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.

With a knowledge of both design and programming, I co-founded Hello Pomelo Creatives – a boutique agency I envisioned that will transform the look of the modern website.

Soon… I saw a need to invite more women into this exciting world of design and technology, thus Coding for Her was born. I strongly believe that skills in Adobe software, coding/programming, and graphic design skills are essential in today’s ever-digitising world, and it is a pity that many find it intimidating. Coding for Her aims to gently invite women into this world through friendly, casual and intimate workshops.
